I have Terminus in /usr/share/fonts/terminus/, my X server uses that (configured
by distribution).

dwm config.def.h:
static const char font[] = "-*-terminus-medium-r-normal-*-16-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-*";

And my locale is en_US.UTF-8.

No issues.

Can you see Terminus in xfontsel?
