Yeah, I sign this. We are currently working on sbase and ubase and hope
to release the first version of sbase in Mid 2015 or earlier.

Frankly, we don't need yet another discussion on a topic like this.
We need people to write patches, test the tools against the current
POSIX-spec and give suggestions.
The ridiculous binary-size with Go is a known issue and will be
resolved more or less, but you never should forget about the
fact that C will beat them all no matter how good the prototyping
is. So given we already have 95% of the tools implemented in C,
why waste another few years to rewrite them in Go?

There are applications for which Go is a good choice, but for the
coreutils, we need to know exactly what's going on behind the scenes
and, most importantly, want them to be portable.
