Yes, I am sure, because `locale` says "de_DE.UTF-8" all over the place
and I'm capable of using both Japanese and German at the same time.
This is AFAIK only possible in UTF8 environments.

When I'm doing something like this:

$ xtermset -T "こんばんわ and äöüß"

it only worked for me after changing Xmb* to Xutf8*.

Christian

PS: I was looking at the string-length calculations in drawStatus() -
they always assume that one character is one byte long, which is
not true for UTF8. But up to now everything somehow worked fine
nevertheless - when I browse http://www.amazon.co.jp, the window
title gets correctly cropped with "..." at the end. I don't know
why it works (it could somehow create "half" multibyte characters),
but as long as it works, I'll account it to magic and be happy :-)
