My initial thought was no, but then I remembered I have seen setups
(generally involving weird card combinations) where the monitor layout only
worked one way around.
I don't know if such issues do still exist, but if they do then not having
it configurable would limit the options of which was master.
Also, for people using a box where they don't have root, they may not be
able to change the xorg.conf (thinking about it, that is probably a more
important reason to provide the setting).
