I wouldn't worry about that, as any sane system offers TIOCSCTTY via
ioctl.h.
The term "portable" within sbase is a bit more "loose" than just
limiting itself to POSIX specifications. You could say that we mean
tools that are usable across Linux and *BSD systems.
