I tested your script and adopted it to my needs (I like the ratpoison
alike prefix-key). It is really great, it feels much faster than the
original shellscript, and the following things are "killer-features":

Both of them are absolutely great. Thats the thing i missed the most
in the original wmiirc.

This is wonderfull. This is a way to select named views in a fast an
convenient way. I really like it!

Okay, I changed it back to hjkl-layout...

I have some points about the script as such:
The split of the MODKEY-variable seems to be overkill. It made me lots
of troubles when I changed modkey to "Control-t,". Anyways, with that
script you made me (a perl programmer) use ruby.... . When I have time
I'll write a wmiirc in perl though.

Anyways, great work! Could you rewrite wmii.rb to work on the socket
directly instead of calling wmiir everytime? Maybe that would give a
little more speadup.
