I'm not the maintainer of wmii anymore. But I still maintain
dmenu [http://xtools.suckless.org] (which has been called
wmiimenu in your wmii version).

Both feature requests can be achieved with a wrapper script.

Just define MOD-x calling xdmenu.sh:
