Web pages containing only content and W3.org will work flawlessly, and
some others will work quite nicely too. If you want an OS, go download
Firefox / Chromium (with salt).

Wouldn't it be possible to run this for reading web pages, but having
a keybinding to open the current page in Surf when you wan't to run
Google Docs. Use CacheFS (might be unwritten) +httpfs or squid to
avoid refetching.

You could still use a graphical HTML-renderer and even embed images
and such with e.g. XloadImage and XEmbed conformant apps. Still
waiting for a something Flash and XEmbed conformant ;)

The only requirement is that run-mailcap can invoke it, it exits when
one has finished reading the web page and preferably blocks until that
has happened. JavaScript, CSS, Flash aren't strictly required to
browse the web. Support for <object> (and <img> and <video> and <aud>
and <model>...) can be achieved with this setup.
