No. Maybe try sudo -E.
Putting wmii into a loop:
while :; do
  wmii
done
helps not loosing state somehow. Here it recovers tags etc.

Still using wmii-3.6, wireshark-1.4.2 (maybe without lua support. I
never tested it)
