If you want dmenu to have 1 option as a default then what is wrong with the
following:
echo "some default value" | dmenu

In your patch you have to delete text in order to use something other than
the default,
and once you have edited it then you cant reselect it.
In the provided example above I can hit tab to select it, I can begin
typing something
else and then hit ctrl-w and tab to get the default back.

I find this much more elegant and general, I could be missing something.
