I disagree. The only use case I could think of was
something like this:

   sed 's/foo/bar/' file | sponge | tee file | frobnicate

However, that would fail to work as expected, so I have
removed the feature.

In the future, please only submit patches with unix line
ends. CR LF is the devil.
