Have you tried clearing your terminal with ^L or clear first? I haven't
checked to see how it works on xterm, but while using screen on st, if
my cursor is at the bottom of the screen, the entire picture gets erased
shortly thereafter it's drawn when the terminal scrolls vertically. I've
attached the iview script I use which switches to an alternate terminal
before drawing the image.
