If there is no ssl/tls error message, than the tls handshake should
work. Did you saw password prompt? When it's working, there is no
further output after the password prompt. sj creates a directory named
'xmpp' with an 'in' file and starts the other daemons. The message
daemon creates a directories with 'in' and 'out' files for every buddy
that messages it receives.
What do you mean with "...together via IRC?"?
