thanks for the headsup and salutes from the Devuan campfire!
if you like me to add another remote to push to suckless, I will do
happily and with great honor. but be warned I have more plans for sup
and they may lead to what you consider "bloat". In a near future I
want it:
1- to be able to send authorized signals to authorized process names
2- to be able to kmodload modules.ko files matching sha256 sums
3- and to be able to write to authorized patchs in /sys and /proc
(2) is pending review since I want sup to work as a static binary with
musl-libc first and foremost (old implementation was prone to
LD_SO_PRELOAD attacks)
unfortunately I have no time to negotiate my needs, but I do have time
to read, acknowledge and fix bugs in the current implementation that
may be found by others (aka maintaining it)
in case you think it is not correct of me to proceed this way and keep
calling this project sup, because you want to actively maintain the
"original" version (at least fixing outstanding bugs!) then I'm
available to change the name of my project and keep pointing at your
implementation.
I hope this cover all cases and outcomes of any decision you'll take
ciao!
