> No I didn't compile it (using the gentoo st-9999 ebuild). I'm using ncurses-6.0, but I indeed read that the terminfo file was outdated. TERM isn't overriden, no multiplexer is used.

I tried with the git termcap too (ran mv /usr/share/terminfo/s/st-256color{,.bak} then tic -s st.info) and the problem still exists.
