|What I want is just your words about my works to help with my application

|
|* How original are they?
|* How non-trivial are they?
Honestly, the syntax to define the layout is -- in my opinion --
horrible. I am too old and to stupid to have masturbation
replacements via cryptical configuration syntax, or even entire
languages, think brainfuck. Yes, when i was younger i sometimes
had similar approaches, and when i came back later, and did not
know at a glance, it only took a short sprint to get back and
"ride that wave" again. But in general i was even more stupid by
then, and today i am nothing but annoyed by such things.
(Now you might say "dude your status line *is* cryptical", and it
is true that ASCII subsets do not get you far, and to "virtualize"
"blocked", "unblocked", "data flows" and "data can always flow
here" in the shortest possible number of columns you must suck.
So to say.)

Other than that i would really have to look more thoroughly.
It looked pretty clean, though quite under-commented.
Because you talked thesis. In FreeBSD, for example, today
a Google Summer of Code project was committed, which diversified
a massive script into a library, and there one could read eg
+ -- Parse it into key, value pairs.
+ local key, value = nextline:match(line_expr)
and i was thankful because i would not have recognized it
otherwise what was happening there. (You are however out for
a master, and as that is beyond me anyhow, it could be ok.)
Other than that i am silent now because *i* am not a suckless
developer.
