Well the funny thing is that now I'm able to reproduce your
issue with terminus, but not with fixed (like that one from
config.default.h).

I tried with dwm-2.6 and it has the same results as dwm-4.4.1.
So I assume something changed on the OS side since then (I
updated my Ubuntu distro a few months ago, maybe some X settings
or X resources changed, maybe the locales behave differently now).

Does anyone get correct results with using terminus and
accessing www.nic.ru in firefox?
