[dwm] Unicode (again?)

Why is it that in urxvt I can see unicode characters such as the arabic
numerals (U+0661 - 9, ١, ٢, ٣, ٤, ٥, ٦, ٧, ٨, ٩) using font setting
"-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-ISO10646-1", but using the
same font when I compile them into dwm or view them with dmenu they just
show up as empty boxes? What am I doing wrong?
