Awesome is as you said a compleatly bloated dwm clone... not the worst
one but I do not want to use it ;) (I used the 2.x branch sometime ago -
but dwm sucks less :D)

If I find the time I maybe could try to make a xrandr dualhead patch
(but dynno how much I have to change to do that ...)
