I had just freshly compiled ncurse 5.7 and it installed inside /usr/include/

$ ll /usr/include/ncurses.h
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 2009-02-03 16:38 /usr/include/ncurses.h -> curses.h

then recompile dvtm, still the same.
