I'm using fcitx, the result is the same for any characters. The
defualt build of dmenu doesn't allow IME (or maybe just fcitx?), so I
applied a modified version of this patch:

It works.
By the way, could this patch be merged to the mainstream? About the
cursor rendering problem mentioned in that

could use drw_fontset_getwidth now without modifying drw.c. Since I
added text scrolling to my dmenu, it doesn't suffer from this problem.
