[wmii] Switching between tabbed frames

I'm trying to learn how to configure wmii and I'm having problems
switching to an arbitrary tab in a tabbed frame.

I've been trying:
wmir write /wm/page/sel/mode/sel/ctl 'select 1'
to switch to the first tab, but this doesn't seem to have any effect.

I'm trying this with the wmii-20051114 snapshot.
