I'd suspect your path causes other trouble as well. It has been said a
couple of times that the plan9 utils have different interfaces and that
nearly all Linux system expect the GNU/SysV util for many tasks.
You better do dont change your path a all. Have a look at the "wmii" and
the "extern" scripts for some background info ($PATH vs $OLD_PATH).
