Hi there,
I created a new snap based on hg tip. It contains the 9P
migration (yes you can mount wmii's filesystem as superuser if
you like with Linux 2.6.14+) and the new acme-alike event based
control mechanism which is done by the wmiirc script,
thus look at the script to checkout how wmii is controlled in
the future.
This snap seems pretty stable to me, though it DOES NOT contain
yet a working column layout. It is floating only atm. Thus I
claim this snap as future preview what you can expect from
wmii-3 from a technical point of view.
It also contains the simplified wmiimenu which can be used for
gathering input now (see the cc'ed mails to this list for
details), and wmiir has a new output format which is similiar to
9p from plan9port: ie.
mmv; wmiir read /

This snap is much more lightweight than the last one, we got rid
of about 2000 SLOC. (now at 6.5kSLOC including everything).
If you already use a column-layouted previous snap, make sure to
move your wmiirc out the way, otherwise it might be totally
unpredicatable what happens.
If you used wmiiplumb before, it has been renamed to wmiipsel,
because it's functionality cannot be compared to the plumber
and because I plan for the future to implement a plumber as well
based on libixp(2) and libregex from plan 9.
(If anyone is willing to contribute with documentation, would be
great, the new stuff isn't documented yet).
