I get this behavior with gnucash. If I press $MODKEY-Shift-Spacebar it
brings the "invisible" floating frame back into the non-floating world
(where I want it anyway) and life is good. The other thing that works
for me is to press $MODKEY-f to maximize the floating frame (make sure
your focus is in floating frame first by pressing $MODKEY-Spacebar).
