[wmii] Columns showing up even when a view is empty

Hello All,

I've just setup a new host and installed wmii+ixp-20080120.tgz
snapshot, and have a problem.

I have not changed any of the rc files so the behaviour appears to be
default. The thing is I have empty columns on the screen (after log in
or if I switch to a new view). If I start an application it will start
in the left hand column. If I then float and then un-float the app the
column will disappear and the app will fill the entire screen as
expected.

How can I change this so there are no columns by default?
