Hi. You are using rc.wmii, so the "date" command the script is using
is p9p's and not the one in /bin/date. The "+%" options are not valid
to format p9p's date. There was an issue in p9p that prevented "date"
from displaying 4 character timezones, but this was fixed [1]. So you
probably need to update your p9p installation or specify /bin/date
explicitly in the commands.
