At least over a slow connection it does. I often work over 64k and the
ncurses interface is only usable without delay when I have the whole
bandwidth for the interactive session.

Ed does not need to print the whole screen when it starts up.

Discussing with Sven on Vim is like diskussing with Uriel on Plan9.
With the only difference that Sven doesn't say ``liquid shit'' so
often. ;-)
