I'm not sure I agree with you. There are lots of examples of games
about which their simplicity is the most attractive thing. Such games
are also particularly addictive. You may not be able to use the "less
is more" approach if you plan on producing yet another throw-away FPS,
but I think it works well if you're prepared to be creative.
