Assuming your window is stacked and not floating…

More seriously, the behaviour 9embed provides is to have a window
content being swapped whilst its other attributes remain. This is
transparent to the window manager. (It's like changing a value but
keeping the pointer. Your approach is to create a new value and change
the pointer. Both might be useful…)


Ideally, when the process terminates (when you quit surf) the window
goes back to the terminal emulator and your shell resumes. Obviously,
if you quit surf by closing the window that's different.
