Hi,

I tend to keep my prompt near the top. Pressing ^l is probably the most
common control sequence I send to my terminal emulator.

On the contrary, things like irssi require that your attention is
focused near the bottom where you read and write.

I find the current top position natural but perhaps for the sole reason
that it's always been like that. Don't see any reason for change anyway.
