Yeah, that page is sort of lacking. What I did is just read dmenu.c a
lot. fwiw the style used for dmenu is almost identical to K&R.

I meant as simple as the current script's C cousin can be. Still, it
might be naturally complex, in which case I'd argue for keeping the
shell version...
