Okay, the specific error message is
Can't load font -*-inconsolata-*-*-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1
This is when trying to use the font string -*-inconsolata-*-*-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1
I also tried the terminus string you provided with no luck.
