Hi,

What is the scope of dtext in perspective of harfbuzz? Do you plan to support
unicode for a maximum of languages? (heard thai and indi are tough).

harfbuzz is c++ pure and raw brain fu**age (sorry for those words, but only
that comes to my mind when thinking about c++). In order to, at least, remove
the c++ dependency, I coded a partial ISO C90-ish port of harfbuzz (charfbuzz on
github) as a drop-in replacement.

The thing is that you would need to work on GUI toolkits to add backends for
your lib (GTK+, EFL).
