Is there still resistance amongst maintainers of st, dwm and dmenu
to work around this in the code? Something like the recent patch
sent to the hackers list, subject line:
  [hackers] [libsl][PATCH] Workaround Xft BadLength X error
looks perfectly reasonable to me. This has been a crashing problem
for quite a while now, and it looks like it will be a while longer
until upstream and the distros most people use fix libxft.

That way we can devote the mailing list to more productive pursuits,
like arguing for the millionth time that C++ is terrible.
