surely it's a matter of taste. I elaborated how I think about it, but
would of course understand the decision to add it. Obviously it has its
uses, but when writing software it's important to prevent
feature-creep.

I don't think so, but at the end of the day, Markus will make the
decision and that's what matters. The maintainer decides what to merge
and what not.
