I've noticed that the proglist() function inside wmiirc causes a big
spike in my system's load every time I start up wmii.

I'd like to offer an alternative implementation, although I don't
know how this would impact portability:

echo "$PATH" | tr ':' '\n' | grep -v '^$' | sort -u | while read
dir; do find "$dir" -perm -u+x -type f -print | sed 's,^.*/,,'; done
| sort -u
