Here's what I do so that I don't have to care if there's another X
session running.

DISPLAY=:$(echo $DISPLAY|cut -c 2).0 exec /usr/local/bin/wmii &
DISPLAY=:$(echo $DISPLAY|cut -c 2).1 exec /usr/local/bin/wmii
