You can just do:

xterm&
xterm&
sleep 1
xwrite /view/sel/sel/ctl sendto next

(Alternatively you can also do:
xwrite /event $MODKEY-Return
xwrite /event $MODKEY-Return
sleep 1
xwrite /event $MODKEY-Shift-l

(as you like).
