i am trying to compile the latest wmii from the website [wmii-20071003].
in order to get libixp i first compiled and installed the tarball
pointed to by the link [wmii+ixp-20070508].

i think i installed the earlier one, but when i try to compile the later
one, i get errors that i haven't been able to figure out.

[root_AT_saylor-linux wmii-20071003]# make
MAKE all libutf/
MAKE all libfmt/
MAKE all libbio/
MAKE all libregexp/
cc: -lc: linker input file unused because linking not done
AR lib/libregexp9.a
ar: .o: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [../lib/libregexp9.a] Error 1
make: *** [dall] Error 2

it seems like it's not finging the libregexp9.a [which does not seem to
be compiled anywhere].

i think the earlier one installed just fine, should i just use that one?
can someone help me get this one to compile? why is the newer one

here's some stuff about my system, and the installed binaries from the
wmii+ixp package:
1090 $ ls -l /usr/local/bin/wmii*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 112866 Oct 29 13:17 /usr/local/bin/wmii
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 14616 Oct 29 13:17 /usr/local/bin/wmii9menu
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 289 Oct 29 13:17 /usr/local/bin/wmii9rc
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 655 Oct 29 13:17 /usr/local/bin/wmiiloop
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 507503 Oct 29 13:17 /usr/local/bin/wmiir
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 311 Oct 29 13:17 /usr/local/bin/wmiistartrc
1091 $ ls -l /usr/local/lib/*ixp*
ls: /usr/local/lib/*ixp*: No such file or directory
1092 $ uname -a
Linux saylor-linux.liaison-intl.com 2.6.9-42.EL #1 Wed Jul 12 23:16:43
EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

[and yes, it's a redhat box and i'm sending this from outlook. you may
just pity me, but i have to work this way ...]
