doing the same (under 10.4/Panther) I get:

/usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 88.1.10)
/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.6.dylib (compatibility version 6.2.0, current version 6.2.0)
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.6.dylib (compatibility version 6.4.0, current version 6.4.0)
/usr/lib/libiconv.2.dylib (compatibility version 5.0.0, current version 5.0.0)

libixp.a is version 0.4, the one from the homepage.

I re-ran the wmii make. as in the first try I get initially

...
CC cmd/wmiir.o
LD cmd/wmiir.O
/usr/bin/ld: table of contents for archive: /soft/lib/libixp.a is out of date;
rerun ranlib(1) (can't load from it)
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [wmiir.O] Error 1
make: *** [dall] Error 2

after execution of `ranlib' compile runs through but the
resulting wmii is the crippled one which I'm pestering the
list with.

is anything wrong with the above libs or the 'out of date'
issue?
