I see several problems here.

* You have patches? Just submit them. This kind of meta discussion isn't
  worth anything.

* You port a piece of *suckless* software (read that word in the
  asterisks again!) to a platform like OSX? Well, the discussion ends at
  this point. There is no point in doing so. The whole ecosystem of
  Apple Software isn't compatible with the mindset I experience on this
  mailing list. Also I don't see the benefit in having something like st
  on OSX.
