Well sam has ISRE, but it lacks a nano/vi/emacs-like (full screen interactive) TUI.

For me, I wonder what is a good way to get a TUI full screen interactive editor with SRE. One could modify or re-write sam, add SRE to vis, maybe use Kakoune? I think it is important for me to explore the options before I decide I am going to start on a project like, for example, writing a curses interface for sam.
