gdm already includes provisions to run a users .xinitrc file. even if
it didn't, it's not suckless.org's problem to make their sucky
software work nicely.

Maybe the script can leave it all to the user, period. Either way,

Each distribution should have their own discussion about this on their
own lists, so we don't have to listen to to it. dwm is licensed such
that we don't have to give a damn how they patch the software.
