I've renamed Bx to B_x to compile.
Can you tell more about your setup? Because *most* of Makus' file[1]
is unreadable here (see screenshot attached). Some strings even turn
to some kind of mangled ascii once displayed (eg.
"$B;d$O%,%i%9$r?)$Y$i$l$^$9!#$=$l$O;d$r=}$D$1$^$;$s!#(B")
- I'm using the default font (updated to iso10646) :
-misc-*-medium-r-semicondensed-*-13-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1
- I've set LC_ALL to en.US.UTF-8 directly in main()

Also, it broke some things like the "magic margin" (aka xterm wrap
glitch) resulting in many broken curses apps.
Wouldn't it be simpler to make ttyread() directly call tputc() instead
of using tputs()?

Anyway, it's a good start!
