I rely on minimalism for security, anonymity and other things.
I heard OpenMTPD or whatever it's called, from OpenBSD.. I'll probably use
that since I am already familiar with OpenBSD, thanks.

Yeah, not sure how often I2Pd (the C++ implementation of I2P) are released on
your distro, but for I2Pd, they should be often, for example there was an
attack recently (and still on-going to a certain degree I think) that lasted
for months, so the new version was released, those who are on the old one -
still affected probably for months, and that is very bad.
For a network not being usable can mean your internet access (if you say only
use I2P) or your web-sites will be gone.
I have sites of my own, one for purely programming-related, another one
that's personal and taboo.
So yeah - they're down just because of that attack and I just don't feel
online-ing them just yet, same here: plans and changes for them soon
