[wmii] rc.wmii.local does not work

INSTALLATION:

I have installed wmii from here:
http://www.suckless.org/snaps/wmii+ixp-20070508.tgz

and dmenu from here: http://www.suckless.org/download/dmenu-3.3.tar.gz

I have also installed Plan9Port from here: http://swtch.com/plan9port/

now all these are installed and I have updated the PATH variable and "echo
$PATH" conforms that. I have also copied "wmii+ixp-20070508/rc/rc.wmii.O"
to "~/.wmii-3.5/rc.wmii.local" and wmii runs fine now.

PROBLEM

I have changed the Mod Key from Mod1 (Alt) to Mod4 (Super_L) and changed
the WMII_TERM=(xterm) to WMII_TERM=(urxvt) but I do not see these
changes as wmii is still running with Alt key and Mod+Enter brings me
Xterm not rxvt.

why wmii is not responding to configuration changes ?
